Membership and Registration
I am a beginner/non UWA student , can I join?
Most definitely. We would encourage new members to look at the coach’s available and contact them for further information. Information on club coach’s can be accessed here. We encourage all abilities to come and give it a try.
We would also encourage you join as a Community member. This membership is for individuals over the age of 17 who do not wish to compete in the Strive Program but still wish to be invovled in the club and compete at club run functions. This includes competing at club run meets as well as the member benefits. This is a great option if you are simply looking at competing at a more social level.
Can I be a member of the UWA senior club and any Little A club?
Yes. Any athlete that is a member of a Little Athletics club can have a dual membership with a senior club.
To do this, firslty joing a little A club then simply go to our registration page and select Little Athletics Dual Membership as your membership open. This will allow you to compete at the weekly Athletics West Strive competitions - keeping in mind you will still need to register for the strive meet prior to entries closing for that week and pay the competition entry fee - this is on top of your membership fees.
Those athletes that are dual members must compete in the full UWA uniform at the strive competition, if you are a UWA little A member you can wear the UWA Little A uniform.
Uniforms for the senior club are available here and can be collected via arrangement.
Why are there different membership prices?
Membership is discounted for UWA students due to their existing affiliation with the University.
We also offer discounted membership for Little Athletics athletes to encourage the transition to senior athletics. This is the dual membership option.
Noting the the club does not offer training as part of their membership. Training is accessible via a club coach, of whom may charge fees.

Training
Can I train at McGillivray Oval?
Yes, however only during our the senior clubs booking times and only if you are a member of UWA Athletics club. You can view these by clicking here.
You are not permitted to train out side the club booking times. You are also not permitted to train in the lanes that are blocked off.
I am not a member of UWA Athletics club can I still train at McGillivray Oval?
Yes.
However, you will need to be coached by a UWA coach and purchase a Training Access Membership. This provides access for non-UWAAC members to train at McGillivray Oval during club training times only and under a UWAAC coach. UWAAC are required to pay to book the training grounds for our training sessions, and as such ensure exclusive access for our members. We offer this membership as a courtesy to cater for athletes with an existing club relationship.
Does the club provide free training?
Unfortunately not.
However, all of our coaches would be more than happy for you to contact them and to go and try a few sessions with their squads. Please keep in mind that squads train at different times and some coaches charge fees. We would ask that after a few training sessions of trying that you speak to the coach regarding payment.
